Tell us about your FIRST CAR
In 1975, I bought a 1966 Mustang.
It had huge L50's on the back and much smaller tires up front,
3 on the column, AM radio and no a/c.
I don't mean the a/c didn't work...it didn't have it (lol).
It was dark green with a tan interior and I only paid $500.
How about you?

American Muscle
I had a 1964 Ford Fairlane passed down from my sister. It wasn't a bad car except in the rain, the brakes & battery cables got wet.

Woo-hoo! Fun fun fun!

My next car was a 1976 Nova. BAD CHOICE! You know Nova means "No Go" in Spainish. Oh if only I had know how true that was. After a couple of more American cars I finally got a grown-up & reliable car, my Toyota Camry. I expect that to be my last car. What a pleasure to drive.  I tried my best to support the American car industry but I just can't afford it any more. Sorry guys, you had plenty of chances

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences with American cars.
I defected to Japan, too... I've recently become a Honda fan.
I still, however, have a warm spot in my heart for big American V8's
(mostly from the 70's).

Big Smile [:D]Wink [;)]  The year was 1967 and I had just graduated High School and with the help of my Dad bought and financed my first car so I could drive to my first big job with a bank. My first car was a 1962 yellow VW Bug.  It was so fun. I could go everywhere.  I got in trouble once when the boys in my High School Graduating class picked it up and hid it behind the High School Sign.  My only save was there were no
tire tracks so how could I drive it back there?? And the Principal agreed.  Thank Goodness!!

The year was 1975... my junior year in high school.
We were upset with the Drama teacher and wanted to do something to get even.
The back door to the stage in the auditorium
was elevated about 4 feet above the ground
and he drove an MG midget.
Add a few strong students and you can figure out the rest.
We left the stage doors open with the tail end of his car sticking out.
He spent quite a while finding enough students willing to help lift it out.
He learned his lesson and became one of the best liked teachers in the school.

Oh, don't get me started.
I bought an '94 Escort (as my daughter's first car) in '06.
I got it for $1100, invested about $3000 into it in less than a year
and then sold it for $1000.
The guy that bought it spent another $200 or so and now loves the car
(he lives near me and I bump into him now and then).
He should love it, I must have fixed everything but the last $200 worth.
It's ok though, I bought her a '95 Civic and have not had to spend a dime on it.

well, i'm a slow learner, because after that taurus died i got me a ford mustang.  another problem car, i spent a pretty penny  on maintenance over the life of the car (7 years) . . . AND I BOUGHT THE THING NEW!
finally got rid of it in 2000 and got a nissan maxima, that was a reliable car.

RE - Cadillac
My first car was given to me by my boyfriend at the time. He was in school all day and I worked so he didn't use the car much. I could always pick him up from school. It was a 1994 cadillac deville 4 door white and smooth. I drove that car all over CA.

Sounds like the only thing missing was a convertible top.
