From your mouth to God's ears!
I saw a sign offering 1-2 bedroom villas starting in the $140's yesterday. The sad part is that sounds like a great low price. 10 years ago, you could buy 3 for that price.

Oh, there's no way I could afford California prices...

RE - RE - Oh, there's no way I could afford California price
...on a Florida salary.
-------------------------
Your salary is probably pretty close to our salaries over here... We have to pay more to live in California!
-------------------------
What do they call having to pay more, the "you're lucky to live here" tax ?

A condo over here in California would be at least $250 to $300,000. YOu should be thanking God that you don't have to try to afford these prices!
-------------------------
I used to live in N.C. for a while. I saw brand knew constructions there going for 130,000. I should have never left. Here in CA that'll get you a parking spot, maybe.
-------------------------
I have a friend in Tennessee that rents a very spacious 2 bedroom apartment,
in a nice part of a small town, for $350 a month.
Of course, there are no good jobs for miles...
I guess that's the trade off.

RE - Low-priced condos
Having lived in Charlotte, NC and now back in San Diego, I've seen the high and low of real estate prices but when it gets right down to it, it's not just about the money but quality of life. Surrounded by my family again, I'm happy to pay higher prices.
-------------------------
Sorry... I'm never "happy" paying higher prices.
Sometimes, I may have to accept prices are what they are,
but I'm only "happy" when they're lower.

Florida seems to have reached a critical point...
The market has shifted from the Seller's market that it was only a year or 2 ago to a Buyer's market that is getting even stronger.
Rental prices for homes are beginning to become affordable
among other signs.
The one thing that would destroy the positive direction that is building
would be something like what happened in California.
Hopefully, Floridians don't fall for all those "great loans"
and end up in the same boat.

RE - For all those who want a good price
Surely the prices in the market are getting balanced by all the foreclosures that are taking place. All of you that want to buy a good price condo or home, might just be able to do this by buying a foreclosure property. Keep looking and be patient, it is a buyers maket.

...and just in time for the next wave of loan sharks.

RE - I cant wait to buy a low priced condo
As some as all these high-rises in Miami open, the market will be flooded with condos, and cheap right?? I hope so because that is what I am waiting for.
-------------------------
All these high-rises in Miami are already open, the market is already flooded with condos, and cheap. If you hoped for this? It is already happening. You have to be waiting no more. Hurry up, get pre-qualified or even better pre-approved or best approved, for an amount of investment or purchase money that your friendly banker says that you can afford.
No decent, self respecting and professional real estate agent (REA)or consultant (REC) will show you any houses, "drive you around" with out knowing first your needs criteria, that is your housing needs as well as your time frame needs; and also for how much you are pre-approved or approved by a reputable lending institution.
And neither should you solicit the services of a REA or REC to drive you around before you know how much you are pre-approved or approved for. And once you have done this select a realtor that give you a value service, and do not be afraid to 'hire' him or her as a buyers agent. This way the REA or REC will give you 100% exclusive attention and service as opposed to the buyers that do not have an exclusive buyers agent agreement with his or her REA or REC.
Remember, REAs and RECs are real people, like you, with bills to pay, with families to support and they get paid only when the deal closes. Therefore, any REA or REC will be more willing to work with a buyer that has his feet on the ground, knows his RE needs, knows his time frame to take action and cause the necesary step to effect the purchase, as opposed to a buyer that has a wishful thinker mentality, who really does not know his RE needs, and who does not his time frame.
